Spring School in Colloid Science

Spring School in Colloid Science

Formumetrics Ltd have, once again, partnered with the University of Bristol in order to run the well-renowned Spring School in Colloid Science in May 2017.

The Spring School in Colloid Science is the flagship colloid training course run by the School of Chemistry at the University of Bristol since the early 1970's. The course had previously been run by staff at the Bristol Colloid Centre from the mid 1990's and had been managed by Samantha Hutton for the past ten years. Since 2012, Formumetrics have continued to run the course in association with the School of Chemistry at the University of Bristol.

The Spring School course has evolved over the years, it was originally a weekend course, before running for many years as a week-long spring school, until it's recent transformation into a popular and concise 3-day version.

The aim of the course is to provide a broad-based, but detailed introduction to colloids and an overview of some theoretical developments and experimental advances. The course will provide an excellent opportunity for delegates to talk directly to experts in this field and to stimulate ideas for innovative applications of colloid science. The course will consist of lectures, interactive sessions and a group problem solving task.
The course will be of interest to professional scientists, engineers, laboratory managers and technology suppliers in a wide range of industries who wish to update and advance their knowledge in Colloid Science. It is also suitable as an introduction for physical scientists with no previous experience of the subject. Usually delegates are either science graduates or possess an equivalent qualification.
The course attendees range from a variety of different sectors and over the past few years have included:

AkzoNobel, BAE systems, Bayer, BP, Cabot corporation, Croda, DSTL, Escubed, Foseco, Fujifilm, GSK, Imerys, Innospec, L'Oreal, Malvern, PERA, Pfizer, P&G, Revolymer, Shell, Syngenta, Unilever, .........
